TravMonkey’s Weekly Roundup 16/08/09

The Killing Fields - Cambodia.
It’s the end of the week or the beginning, depending on which way you look at it! It’s time to roundup those interesting travel sites and resources from around the web:
- Adventure Rob has a great travel blog post on The Killing Fields in Cambodia. This reminded me of my trip to Cambodia a few years ago. I found the history and just how recently these events were, quite haunting.
- Another blog post I came across was Vagabonding’s – Traffic in Saigon. Again bringing back many memories of the crazy traffic in Vietnam, although when I was there I actually thought Hanoi was busier.
- British Airways launched it’s fare finder this week. It adds a extra element of transparency and you can find out when exactly to fly in order to grab a bargain.
- I also found white board asia this week. Some great photos of a couple carrying a white board and pen around asia, it’s pretty interesting to see what locals and travelers they have met write on the board.

I've enjoyed visiting your site…thanks for posting about whiteboard asia! My sister and I had a great time with that adventure this past fall. I am new to social media but a friend and I will be doing something similar this fall as we tackle central america in hopes of starting an adventure travel company focused on 20 and 40 day off the beaten path trips. We put them in amazing places and take care of logistics while they just worry about having fun!
Keep up the good work
Thanks for the linkback Paul, much appreciated.
The killing fields are definately worth a visit for those who want to learn about this recent history and how not to run a country.
Hi Justin,
Sounds like a fun business! Send me the details when it's up and running!
Hi Rob,
The killing fields kind of puts everything into perspective really. Interesting but also very depressing at the same time.
