I must be honest, I’m sometimes #8 to fix #4 on the top bunk. And #5 definitely drives me nuts. I always pack my bags the night before to avoid rustling too much in to much in the morning. I never have plastic bags though.

I’ve found bag rustlers to be comfortable with sitting on your bed while you sleep as well. I wasn’t cool with that.

Hi Jane, I think you kind of get used to the annoyances after a while. But if you want a good nights sleep you are usually better off booked a room to yourself!

Carla, remind me not to go traveling with you!

Jessa, smelly sock, shoes or anything is horrible and is pretty one of the worst things although thankfully not that common… well at least I don’t think it is!

The Person With the Smelly Shoes (that makes the smell of the dorm just whack you in the face every time you walk in) is my least favourite person. I can deal with snorers, but not smelly shoe people!

In Anchorage, Alaska-I laugh at my 1st hostel experience, stayed at a smaller dorm hostel, a little bit seedy atmosphere, awoken by drunks in the night…so next night and the last we scrounged and paid the $$ for hotel–it was like luxury after 2wk backpack trip!
