Traveling to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or DPRK means that you are aware of the certain limitations when entering the country. Visiting the country is only possible with a guided tour, where the chances of using a camera or a mobile phone are slim to none. The chances of vacationing in North Korea are also very low, but if visitors do get to visit, precautions must be taken.Despite the heavy control in the country, North Korea is well known for the beauty of their mountainous landscapes and many cities near water. One of these cities in Sinpo, which is a port near the coast of the Japan Sea where the famous Kumho-ri, a nuclear site is located. The climate here is cool and the city is inhabited by a diverse wildlife and there are many accommodations around. The Murduk palace in Shenyang located in Sinpo is a popular destination.Another great place to visit in North Korea is Hyesan which is located at the top of the Yalu river stream. Hyesan is one of the coldest places in North Korea during winter, and it is a popular destination for skiing and other snow-related activities. Aside from the beauty and serenity of the Yalu river, Baekdu mountains also offer visitors adventure. Known by the Koreans to be a spirited mountain, it houses beautiful waterfalls and the Heavenly Lake. Other good places to visit in North Korea are Pyongyang, its capital, Kanggye, Songnim and Haeju.
