Traveling to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or DPRK means that you are aware of the certain limitations when entering the country. Hyesan is one of the coldest places in North Korea during winter, and it is a popular destination for skiing and other snow-related activities. Aside from the beauty and serenity of the Yalu river, Baekdu mountains also offer visitors adventure. Known by the Koreans to be a spirited mountain, it houses beautiful waterfalls and the Heavenly Lake. Other good places to visit in North Korea are Pyongyang, its capital, Kanggye, Songnim and Haeju.
