I've been to China, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Macau, Malaysia, Laos and Singapore.
They are all great and offer different things. For example Thailand is great for its beaches and great food, Cambodia has the stunning Angkor Wat and some interesting history....Vietnam is very diverse.
South East Asia is a great place to backpack and you'll have a great time. Feel free to ask any specific questions.
Thanks,
Paul@

Thanks for your comment. I agree I think it's a great way to test if you are suited! Everyone should try travelling with their other half!

It definitely helped our relationship. We traveled together every chance we got and managed to stay happy along the way.
I definitely agree with your points of taking some time apart on the road (especially when she wants to shop) and meeting new friends (it takes the pressure off both of you).

My wife and I were only dating for a month when we took our first trip together–2 days in a nearby city.
