Indonesia, officially called the Republic of Indonesia is said to be the world’s 4th most populous country with about 9.3 million inhabitants and has the biggest percentage in the Muslim population. Indonesia is comprised of more than 17, 000 islands and that alone says that the country offers endless possibilities and adventures. The beauty of Indonesia is overwhelming-its mix of history culture and natural resources earn it a top spot in most backpacker's lists. Travellers will not have a chance to run out of what to do and to enjoy in Indonesia. Beach loving folks will have a tremendous time in the islands and beach resorts that can be found in Indonesian cities like Bali, Irian Jaya and Lombok which all offer a magnificent beach view, recreational activities, an array of water sports and a time of relaxation in all sun-kissed goodness. Those who are up for an adventure in nature should visit Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru, Mount Batur and its lake, the Plateau of Ljen and Puncak Pass; all of which have breath-taking views perfect for sightseeing and nature activities such as hiking, trekking and mountain climbing. Those who want a taste of Indonesia’s culture and history will enjoy sightseeing ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples, castles and palaces and other beautiful ruins in cities like Prambanan, the Dieng Plateu, Semarang, Jakarta and many more. Indonesia is a place for the adventurous and creative in all aspects-whether it be nature, history or culture.
