On Saturday 25th of February I’m off to Chamonix on a snowboarding press trip.
I was last in Chamonix three years ago attempting to improve my snowboarding but my strongest memory is of three of us rodeoing up the button lift before someone plugged the emergency stop.
I may be a little rusty, but I’m really looking forward to pushing my skills to the next level and with a just little under a week on the slopes it should be the perfect opportunity.
The snow trip is being organised by Travelllll.com and Expedia and the team consists of Lezaan Roos from Travelllll.com plus Lea Hajner and Peter Anegg from tripwolf.com. We used Expedia’s handy new Facebook app, Snow Companion to plan as well as vote on preferred destinations and accommodation.
We’ll be in Chamonix for a week and you can follow all action on the hashtag #ExpediaSnow, I’ll be using this hashtag on Google + too.

Have you been to Chamonix or are you a regular? Have you got any tips for us? Places to drink and eat etc?

The greatest and the most diverse ski slopes, an outstanding alpine history, full of cultural and sporting events , marvelous Mont Blanc views, shopping streets:), an amazing range of spas, luxury chalets and great after ski fun.
I was there and simply loved it! (cozier then I expected)
Hi Miruna,
Yeh I remember that the landscape is pretty beautiful in Chamonix, can’t wait… a spa would be great too!
Hi Bird,
Yeh I had one or two nights out in Chanomix too, but I did usually hit the slope too although maybe a little late (12ish).
Dreading the button lift already!
I just remember getting drunk there a lot and doing a small amount of boarding… Hmm.
Enjoy! Getting serious snow envy and every snowboarder loves to hate/hates to love a good old French button lift.
Bird x
